Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) again held a guest lecture themed “Generative AI: Implementation in Universities,” which took place in the Ruang Seminar, Gedung R Lt. 11, Campus I Untar, Monday (19/8/2024).
The event featured two outstanding speakers, Angelia Teo Kwee Gaik, B.A. and Dr. Raymond Chan Wai Mun, BCS, M.Sc. who are both founders of genue.ai Singapore.
In this guest lecture session, the speakers discussed the role of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, highlighting how this technology can change the way universities prepare students for future challenges. Speakers also explored the opportunities and challenges of AI integration in education curricula as well as the importance of synergy between academia and industry for successful implementation.

The speakers explained how Generative AI can be used to create more interactive and personalized educational materials, improve learning effectiveness, and facilitate more innovative approaches in higher education. They emphasized that the application of AI in universities is not just a trend, but a necessity to prepare students for the rapid development of technology.
With highly relevant topics and competent speakers, this guest lecture succeeded in providing new insights for the participants, especially in understanding the role and potential of Generative AI in the academic environment.
This guest lecture was also attended by FTI Untar’s Manager of Cooperation and Resources Tony, Ph.D., Head of Informatics Engineering Viny Christanti Mawardi, S.Kom., M.Kom., and FTI Untar students who enthusiastically attended the session.

The event was closed with the presentation of an award plaque as a form of appreciation for the speaker’s contribution. With a very relevant topic and competent speakers, this guest lecture succeeded in providing a deep understanding for the participants about the role and potential of Generative AI in the academic environment.
